Writing for Edutopia has been a longtime goal of mine, and I’m thrilled to share that I recently published my first practitioner article on their platform.

It started with a spark—an idea rooted in the research I’d been collecting on professional development and the gaps I observed in how instructional coaches are trained. While I wasn’t ready to publish findings from my dissertation just yet, I knew I had something to contribute. The question kept echoing in my mind: Who is coaching the coach?

I submitted a few article ideas and was ecstatic when I heard back with interest from their editorial team. From there, I worked closely with an editor to shape the piece, ensuring it was grounded in research but practical enough to apply in real school settings. The process reminded me of what I love most—turning theory into action.

Sharing the final article with my colleagues and coaching community was a full-circle moment. It aligned with the kind of support and strategic thinking I bring through Aligned Coaching & Consulting, and echoed the work I’ve done helping districts implement effective curriculum and coaching systems.
